The Archery Ten Commandments
- Thou shalt not talk in a loud voice whilst others are shooting.
- Thou shalt not talk to another competitor who obviously prefers to be silent.
- Thou shalt not make any exclamation on the shooting line, which might disconcert your neighbour in the act of shooting.
- Thou shalt not go behind the target to retrieve thine arrows before thy score has been recorded.
- Thou shalt not walk up and down the shooting line comparing scores.
- Thou shalt not touch anyone else’s equipment without permission.
- Thou shalt not leave litter.
- When calling scores, thou shalt do so in groups of three, for example 7,7,5 pause 5,5,3.
- If thou breakest another’s arrow through thine own carelessness, thou shalt pay for it.
- Thou shalt thank the Target Captain at the end of the round for their work on your behalf.
